Our school was founded in 1965. It is located in the south-eastern part of Ukraine. It was a secondary school then with a lot of students. It has always taken a great role in the life of the community being the centre of the students’ active life and promoting European values, active citizenship, patriotism, equality and leadership.

There were 460 students and 44 teachers till 2022. Since the beginning of war in 2022, when russian troops entered our town and occupied it, many families had to leave it and moved to either non-occupied territories of Ukraine or abroad. We renewed the work of our school in autumn 2022 and since then  we are on distance learning. So at present there are 247 students and 59 teachers in our school. Despite the war and distance learning we continue taking part in many national and international events and even received the Twinning School Label this year. It is the third time we have received it.

Our school is an active participant of many local, national  and international contests, projects, sports competitions, olympiads in which students demonstrate wonderful results and often win. The school staff and students regularly do some volunteering to support the disabled or sick children, support our Ukrainian army and wounded soldiers. Our students are actively involved into various tourist or geography clubs, and go hiking with their principal to promote healthy lifestyle.

In 2016 we joined a great community of schools, eTwinning. We have plunged into a great number of projects and have received lots of National and European Quality Labels since then.

We have a great experience of conducting successful projects together with our European partners in the eTwinning programme. Some relationships have evolved into long lasting collaboration and our partners often want to cooperate with our team. For example, we’ve been collaborating with a partner from Silves, Portugal for 6 years already. We greatly appreciate it that our partners trust our team despite the war and difficulties we are having at present. With another partner from Lousa, Portugal, we have got some successful projects. And this list can be continued… The topics of our eTwinning projects have always been various: business, citizenship, European values, media literacy, bullying, mental health, environmental problems and protection, leadership, poetry, literature, space, technologies, cultural heritage, etc.  We are excited to learn something new every time we start a new project and we are ready to share what we already know.  We are friendly, creative and reliable partners. We are open to new ideas, suggestions and happy to meet new friends!
